Here’s your weekly recap—the most viewed news stories on our site for the week ended Oct. 29, 2022. Turkish nonwovens producer Mogul recently started up its seventh meltblown line—a new 1.6 m wide Reicofil machine. As one of the key players in the meltblown market, Mogul started three new meltblown lines since the start of the pandemic. Each are mainly designed to produce high efficiency mask and filter media. In other news, Suzano has acquired Kimberly-Clark’s Brazilian tissue business including a factory located in Mogi das Cruzes and the Neve tissue brand. The operation includes installed capacity of 130,000 tons of tissue per year. The transaction is subject to compliance with previous conditions, such as approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) and will not impact Suzano’s financial health or level of indebtedness. The union of Kimberly-Clark’s tissue business in Brazil with Suzano’s consumer goods operation complements product categories and geographies. Suzano operates mainly in the markets of toilet paper, paper towels and napkins. Kimberly-Clark’s product line features toilet paper, napkins, wet wipes, paper wipes and dry wipes. The lines of children’s and adult diapers and female care goods were not included in the negotiation. Here are our top 3 most viewed stories from the past week: 1. Mogul Starts Up Seventh Meltblown Line 2. Suzano to Acquire K-C’s Brazilian Tissue Business 3. Kimberly-Clark Marks 150 Years of Innovation
